Directed and oversaw this game from concept to release. Worked on the narrative Design and writing of this choice heavy visual Novel. Oversaw the development of the internal node-based unity-plug-in tool. This game taught me a lot on good development practices within large scale projects. The game took 2 years of development.
Created in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 50 with 2 other colleagues. I worked on the semi-randomisation and hand crafted elements of the game, which included writing most of the jokes and scripted elements. I am particularly proud of my work on the individual objects on the desk: paper, stamps, clipper, etc. as I put a lot of work into making their use feel good and satisfying.
Fun fact: Civil Servant was rated in the top 300 of funniest games, out of 3000+ entries.
A small experience created to show off animations and atmosphere as a playable trailer for a larger VR game I worked on, which is not publicly available. This game was entirely created by me, with the sole exception being the model and it’s animations. I did draw and rig it’s face though, to make the AI a bit more sassy. =p
My first leadership position in a game studio, I learned a lot how to oversee and manage tasks and deadlines. This was a commercially developed management game with indirect multiplayer interactions intended to teach students about business and company management in german classes. In this game you start out in a garage and slowly but surely recruit more workers in different fields to develop better software and build out your company to make more money.
A game about the history of my home-country, with an incredibly pasisonate community. Been responsible for developing new environments and organising community events. One of my highlights was writing and managing aspects of the community newspaper, and orchestrating the fan-art competition from beginning to end. (In the end we handed out prizes and put several fan-art pieces into the game as furniture. =D)
First large scale game I ever managed. It taught me a lot about how to effectively manage the responsibilities and deadlines of different team-members, and delegate different tasks. This experience allowed me to realize how much I enjoy being able to bring out the best in my colleagues and how satisfying it can be to be in a position to elevate the work of others.
VR game that lets you control a mecha from the inside, as you have to pull levers turn valves and press buttons to make your archaic mecha perform basic tasks. I directed and designed this project. This game taught me a lot of physical interaction design and was my first experience developing in VR.
